The North Face (TNF) Himalayan Parka (Windstopper version) (size Small)

This jacket is very puffy.  I purchased mine secondhand, but it was in excellent condition.  Check out the TNF website for specifications.

Pros:
1) 4 external pockets, 2 chest pockets that nicely fits Nalgene 500ml bottles.
2) Windstopper material is very good (bright red colour stands out on white snow background :-)).

Cons:
3) Velcro tends to crack a little.  Not that durable.
4) Hood needs to be larger and come around the face a little bit more.
5) Hood needs additional adjustment (i.e. to pull the top of the hood back from the face to meet different head sizes).

This jacket is very warm and good for high altitude mountaineering.

I purchased it with my own money and I will be happy to use it for all the mountains that I try.

*I prefer 2 piece over a down suit -more flexibility in being able to use the jacket by itself around base camp of higher, just as warm as a down suit as the mid-body gap is non existent and it is all held under the harness, and you can adjust size between upper and lower body.
