Another early morning train ride to the next city (Udaipur to Pushkar). We would arrive midday. This means a free afternoon to power through some sites...but I stupidly decided to walk with the tour group instead. Big mistake as they were so slow. I ditched them and powered through on my own.
I am a little 'templed out'. I prefer to see them from the outside (the Brahma Temple). That was the reason I didn't go inside so many temples here. Temples vs mosques...the winner is mosques. Mosques tend to be more elegant and have greater volume.
Pushkar is a holy city. Interesting to see people washing in the Pushkar Lake. It is not the cleanest of lakes. You are supposed to remove your footwear within 30ft from the water.
The town has a lively market area/s but there is a high repetition in the stores. Just selling tourist stuff.
I was able to see everything I wanted to in Pushkar this afternoon. Tomorrow I will head off back towards the train station in Ajmer, that we arrived to the region, as there is much more to see and do than Pushkar.
The hotel we are staying at is terrible. The Wi-Fi does not extend to the bedrooms, there is no heating, the hot water doesn't work and constant power outages (the latter point is more of a town power supply issue). All it has is a nice garden space and big rooms. I would prefer the bare necessities over space.
