2024 Dec-India Fri 27. Jodhpur.

It was supposed to be a power-sightseeing day. However, I got to see everything without needing to power through. All the tourist sites are in close walking distances to each other. Only the Mandore Garden was further out.

Approximately 570 pictures are taken today! So much was seen.

The main places I visited were:
1) Ghanta Ghar.
2) Mehrangarth Fort.
3) Pachetia Hill.
4) Kunj Bihari Temple.
5) Toorji Ka Jhalra.
6) Mandore Garden.

The main Jodhpur town area with the Ghanta Ghar (the tower clock) was relatively quiet in the morning. The surrounding market area is not that spectacular. So far, Indian markets are not something majestic like the bazaars in Morocco, or the markets in Turkey.

Every tourist would visit the Mehrangarth Fort. It is the primary reason to visit Jodhpur. The fort is huge and towers over the city. It is built on top of a hill that is steep from all sides. It is ab imposing structure, just like a fort should be.

Pachetia Hill was a side stroll around the fort. It provided a different scenery. You would walk past blue buildings...but it ain't no Chefchaouen 😁.

The Kunj Bihari Temple was very disappointing. It was not worth my time to remove my shoes in order to go inside. I have already written too much here. It is just to tick-off from an artificial tourist list.

The Toorji Ka Jhalra was a beautiful stepped-down square well. Much bigger than the Ugrasen in Delhi. This was a great place to sit and take it all in. There are fish and even a turtle in the water ( that I saw).

The final stop was recommended by my guide. The Mandore Garden is rather large and surprised me with all the structures within the gardens. I was expecting only plants and grasslands. I am shocked that this hidden gem is not more widely advertised as a tourist 'must do'. It is definitely in the top 3 things one should visit in Jodhpur.

Tonight will be an early night for me. We have another transit day tomorrow. We leave the accommodation at 5am. I had a lot of pictures to backup and upload. I also want to have a decent sleep.
