2024 Oct-Croatia Fri 4. Split (Islands)

Today was the 5-Island jet boat tour.

We met at the pier at 7:30am.

The boat was like a commercial rubberduck boat. The swell/waves were rough so the seating configuration was like a 1/2 motorbike seat with a back support. It made it easier cushion the hits with your legs.

Our first island stop was at Milna. A quaint port town where a lot of charter boats are moored. We had an hour to look around. Not much on the island but an hour was enough to allow one take all the necessary pictures.

We were then supposed to go to the Blue Cave but it was closed due to the rough swell. We went to Palmizana instead. This was the first swimming opportunity. The was was nice. The beach was under high tide conditions (no beach per se). We spent around 1:30hrs swimming.

Once we finished at Palmizana we went over Hvar. This is a tourist favourite. It has the fortress and old town. We only spent 2hrs here. This was enough to see the fortress completely (1hr) and the remaining time was spent looking through the old town area.

I was afraid that we may not have had enough time, but I was mistaken. It was a power sightseeing event but not at a crazy speed. There was just enough time to absorb it.

The Blue Lagoon was the next stop. This was a swimming spot for 1:30hrs. The Adriatic Sea never fails to disappoint. There were a lot of other charter boats at this location.

Our final stop was at Trogir. This was a quick 50min stop. It was very rushed to see the tower and part of the city.wish we had an ectra 40mins. That would have allowed for more discovery and time to absorb.

We returned to Split at 5:20pm. It was a long day on/in the water. I enjoyed swimming in the high-salt sea water. It made swimming so easy.

After returning to the apartment to wash the salt off the body, it was then another night walk. The whole place was buzzing with activity. There was also some kind of super yacht show happening. The yachts were all lined up for show.

Tomorrow will be my final day. My Krka National Park tour was cancelled so this gives me time to relax and see Split for the final time.
