The North Face (TNF) Himalayan Pant (size Small)

These were pretty good.  They were warm and easy to put on/take-off.  Material appears durable.  What more could I want?  I also prefer the windstopper material than the see-through new pertex material.  Check out the TNF website for specifications.

I'll be providing a little more detail in the description but it's better to bring it up here before you choose to invest in these pants.

Cons:
I struggled with the rainbow zip for quick pooing.  The best designs for pooing would be the single zip from back to front.  Rainbow seats are flawed in that to unzip requires the zip path to navigate under your harness leg strap that goes to the leg loops at the rear.  This is difficult to open with big gloves to go under the leg strap, or when rushing (diarrhea).  Furthermore, once the rainbow seat has been unzipped, you need to hold onto that rainbow flap at the front so that you don't risk peeing on it when you poo.  You use the same pelvic muscles so you want to be safe to not soil your clothing.

The reinforcement is excellent (cordura around the bum) and should limit wear.  Wish these had reinforcements on the knees (I owned the older version without knee reinforcement).  You don't need ankle cuff reinforcement as the cuffs will be under the gaiters of your boots.

I purchased these pretty cheaply from the US (my mate freight forwarded it to Australia).  For the price, I can live with the issues...for now.  A front to back zipper would make this (and on the down suit model) near perfect in design.

*I prefer 2 piece over a down suit -more flexibility in being able to use the jacket by itself around base camp of higher, just as warm as a down suit as the mid-body gap is non existent and it is all held under the harness, and you can adjust size between upper and lower body.
