This mitt is yet to be tested in anger by me. Check out the TNF website for specifications. I purchased this to replace my Outdoor Research Alti Mitts.
Initial impressions are of the himalayan Mitt:
1) much more insulation than the Outdoor Research Alti Mitts (pics with red insert below). You can see the difference in fill volume from the pictures.
2) sizing in Medium is much smaller than the Outdoor Research Alti Mitts of equivalent size.
3) warmer than Outdoor Research Alti Mitts when I put them on for a minute or so. This bodes well for testing on Everest.
4) great leather wrapped palm/finger area. It should be durable for rope work.
5) excellent wrist cinch strap...the OR Alti Mitt did not have wrist cinch.
6) has a nose wipe.
It is a well filled (down+Primaloft) and appears to have smart construction for durability with leather around all possible high wear points.
Fits like a glove :-)
