2025 Jan-India Sun 5. Agra.

This morning was not as foggy as yesterday. I arrived at Akbar's Tomb at 9:15am via Uber tuk tuk. It was slow going on the e-tuk tuk. I prefer the ICE tuk tuk version as it is faster.

Visibility at the site was good. What surprised me was that there were hardly any tourists there. It was only a couple of foreign tourists and myself! We had the entire site to ourselves.

Not many tourists come to this site because it is a little further out. It is also a very symmetrical structure and layout, so the pictures can look repetitive.

Akbar's Tomb was a great escape from the busier tourist attractions. It is definitely worth visiting as the third main site for Agra.

After Akbar's Tomb, I caught another Uber motorcycle to Agra Fort. This fort is large, BUT, only around 30% of it is open for sightseeing. There are many guides touting for work but given the small area that is opened, no guide is required.

I decided to go for some local street walking to get a feel of the city. One of the easiest was to get to the main sites is to use the metro train system. It is very cheap indeed. Uber motorcycle for me was was more about convenience, as I got to walk around unrestricted.

From late afternoon we would jump on an overnight train to Varanasi. We should reach our stop early in the morning. I plan to do some clothes washing when we get to the hotel.

It was a good day that could have been filled with maybe one extra site. I was not fulfilled. I required more activity.
