We left the ANZAC Hotel and off to Selcuk. As we walked towards the public transport stop (bus stop) we worked out that one of the tour group members went missing. This person always walked at the front, and they had no mobile SIM service.
There was a frantic hustle by the guide to backtrack to the hotel whilst the rest of us were waiting to load onto the local bus to take us to the main coach station.
The guide and missing member made it just in time. They arrived in a taxi. Whist we were waiting I had to listen to the others discuss the 'event'...it was not an 'event-. It was simply someone who thought they knew what they were doing, and it turned out incorrectly.
Moral of the story...is if you have no clue then at least have network connection so that the guide can communicate with you.
We left on the coach at 12:00pm and it would take 7.5hrs to reach Selcuk. Long ride indeed. At least we stay for two nights here.
I had already booked the following day's daytrip through Viator. This is to see the Roman sites etc.
The hotel we stay at in Selcuk has a swimming pool, but 8pm the pool may not be that warm. Better to just shower and go sightseeing. Dinner on the go. The problem is that when it is this dark at night it is not possible/worrh it to take pictures.
*The weather was humid and warm. At 10pm the pool was quite comfortable, so naturally I went for a dip. Perfect way to close off the transfer day.
So many full days but such long transfer day are the worst. It is pure lost time.
